Vac-Cube Assembly

If you have ordered a vac-cube with the "partial frame" option you need to first BUILD THE MISSING PARTS of your vac-cube frame.

So, you should now have the following parts in front of you:

1 x Latex cube shaped bag
1 x Closure bar
1x One way valve
7 x 3-way 90-degree elbows
1 x 4-way 90-degree elbow
12 x 34.5" (88cm) long 1.5" dia pipes with small drilled holes along their length

Now your job is to do the following.

1) Set up your room to be ready for the vac cube.
2) Set up the frame for your cube inside the latex bag
3) Set up the one way valve and prepare to play
4) Go on to our "how to use the vac cube" FAQ and have fun!

Part 1: Prepping the room.

In order to make sure that your vacbed lives for as long as possible there are some precautions you should always take in setting up the room you are going to be playing in.
  • Remove any sharp sided furniture from the immediate area of play.  This is for the safety of both the cube's latex, the sub inside and the person supervising outside (who tend to get excited and bump into things)
  • ALWAYS set up your cube on a soft floor surface.  carpeting is OK.  Hard wood, tile, or concrete floors are NOT OK!  Hard floor surfaces will allow for a small contact area where the latex and frame meet the floor.  This will lead to premature damage to the cube edges and eventually lead to leaks or tears in the rubber.
    • If you are lacking a soft floor surface we recommend getting hold of a set of interlocking play room foam tiles.  They are easy to use, and provide a good padded surface without too much squish.  Perfect for cube play, these mats help protect the latex and the knees/elbows of the sub inside.
  • Make sure that you have enough room to play.  we suggest that you have at least 3 feet on all sides of the cube to move around the sub inside and play with them.
  • If you intend to flip the cube to a new position after suctioning it down, you will need a full 6 feet in the direction you want to flip them to make sure that they have room and that you have room after flipping to move around the cube.
  • Check that you have an available power outlet for your vacuum cleaner.
  • It might be a good idea to get together any toys you want to play with before your sub is in the cube.  Vac-cubes are strenuous bondage devices and your sub should not be left alone while you go find your favorite vibrator or flogger.
  • Grab some water and a straw so your sub can have a quick sip while you play... it can get hot in there!  (Some ice is always a nice touch too... for keeping drinks cold and for sensation play through the cube walls)

Part 2: Setting up the frame.

WARNING: The most common form of damage to vac-cubes happens during set up.  Be very careful not to pinch any latex sheeting from your vac-bed bag in between the pipes and the elbows at the corners.  If the latex gets pinched it may start a small hole or weaken the latex.

It is best to assemble the frame slowly, carfully and gently.  That way if you do pinch a bit of latex in one of the elbows, you can gently remove the elbow and get the latex out of the pinch. Once the frame is fully assembled, you can (From inside) carefully pull the frame together more tightly... again being carful that the elbows do not grab any latex and pinch it.

1) DO NOT SET UP YOUR FRAME OUTSIDE THE LATEX BAG... you will not be able to get it inside through the opening in one piece.  (See image to the left... don't do that!)

2) The image to the left shows the general shape of the frame. It has 12 even length pipes with small holes drilled through to allow air to be drawn out.  It also has 7 special 3-way 90deg elbows and one very special 4-way 90deg elbow.  The 4 way elbow is where we will start our assembling.

3) Take one pipe, the 4 way elbow and one 3-way elbow.   Assemble them into one unit with one elbow at each end of the pipe.

4) Note: the 4-way elbow should be arranged such that one of the ports that goes straight through the elbow is fitted to the pipe.

5) The 4-way elbow must then be placed into the vac cube so that the 4th (extra) opening that runs in line with the pipe runs out of the small opening on the vac-cube.  This is where you will attach your vaccum cleaner and one way valve to suck the air out of the cube.  The other end of the pipe with it's 3-way elbow should continue straight across the cube away from this hole.  This will form the first edge of the base of your cube.

6) Next, you will want to slot 2 of the long pipes into the elbows at either end of the pipe you have now got inside the latex bag.  We are going to build the whole base of the cube first.

7) Add an elbow to the end of each of the 2 pipes you just inserted.

8) Add a long pipe between the 2 elbows you just installed.  You should now have a square base with 4 pipes, 3 3-way valves (with their open ports all pointing upwards), and 1 4-way elbow with one open port pointing upwards and one poking through the small hole in the vac-cube.  This should all be inside the cube.  You now have a base around which to build the rest of the frame.  From this point on you will need to climb inside the cube to work on the frame... yes... from inside!

9) Make sure that your base is oriented along the base of the latex bag, and tucked neatly into those 4 corners.

10)Now you can add 1 pipe to each of the upward facing ports in the 4 corners of your base.  As you do this the cube will begin to take on the familiar cube shape.  Gently orient the latex so that each of the upright pipes goes up to a corner of the bag.

11) Add a 3-way elbow to each upright pipe.

12) Add a pipe between each of the upright pipes elbows.

13) You have now built your frame inside your vac-cube bag!

Stop: Look around inside the cube.  Are any of the corners pinching latex?  If so, gently remove the elbow that is pinching the latex (do not pull the latex out without removing the elbow) and re-set the elbow being careful to not pinch the latex.   If all is good, move around from pipe to pipe gently but firmly pushing them into the elbows to make the frame more secure.   Again... watch out for pinching.

14) Make sure that the outlet for the frame is poking out to the outside of the cube, and exit the cube.

15) Double check that everything is ok on the outside.  No pinches.  Everything should look cube like at this point.

Part 3: Set up the one way valve and prepare to play!

1) If all is good.  Apply a little bit of tape around the port that is sticking out of the vac-cube (to seal the latex to the frame there and stop any leaks) and insert your one way valve into that port.  Make sure your valve is oriented in the right direction so that it draws air out without returning it.
2) Apply a bit more tape to the valve and the elbow it's inserted into to further seal the bed.
3) You can now hook your vacuum to the one way valve and prep for play!  (Note: Since every vacuum cleaner has different sized pipes, you will need to engineer your own connection to the valve.  It does not have to be perfect as the valve will stop any leakage back into the bed. You can probably rig it up with a bit of tape without much trouble)

Part 4: Have fun!
